Pick up clutter so the team can reach surfaces and floors, put away valuables, cash and private papers, and decide how pets will be kept safe and calm. Confirm how the team will get in and lock up, and tell them your priorities and anything fragile or off-limits. You don't need to pre-clean.
Wondering how to prepare for a house cleaning? A little preparation helps your first visit go smoothly and lets the team spend its time where it counts. This is the same checklist we share with every new client.
The day before
- Pick up clutter. Toys, clothes, mail and dishes. The team cleans surfaces and floors, and it can't clean under piles.
- Put away valuables. Jewelry, cash, medications and private documents should go in a drawer or a closed room.
- Clear the sink and run the dishwasher if you can.
- Make a short list of priorities. The shower glass, the oven, the guest bathroom: whatever bothers you most.
- Note anything fragile or off-limits. Antiques, delicate surfaces like unsealed marble, or a room you don't want entered.
Plan for pets
Tell us about pets before the visit. Friendly pets can roam, but anxious pets, or pets who might dash out an open door, are happier in a closed room or crate with water. Let us know about litter boxes or pet areas you'd like cleaned.
Sort out access
- Decide whether you'll be home, share a door code, or leave a key.
- Let us know about alarm codes, gate codes, parking and building rules if you're in a condo.
- Tell us how you'd like the home locked up when we leave.
Know what to expect
- The first visit takes longer. It's usually a deep clean that removes build-up.
- We bring everything. Supplies and equipment come with us.
- We follow a checklist built for your home at the walkthrough, and we'll update it as we learn your preferences.
After the visit
Walk through and tell us what you love and what you'd change. If something isn't right, let us know within 24 hours and we'll come back and re-clean it for free. Feedback after the first few visits helps us get your home exactly how you like it.

Frequently asked questions
Should I clean before the cleaners come?
No pre-cleaning needed. Just pick up clutter so the team can spend its time cleaning instead of moving things.
Do I need to be home?
Not unless you want to be. Many clients share a door code or key. We'll agree on access, alarms and lock-up at the walkthrough.
What about my pets?
Friendly pets can stay. If a pet is anxious, afraid of vacuums, or likely to slip out the door, keep it in a closed room or crate and let us know.
Do I need to provide supplies?
No. Casabela brings all supplies and equipment. If you prefer a specific product on certain surfaces, leave it out and let us know.
